WAR ON UKRAINE:

Four days into Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, officials on both sides held talks at the Belarus border, however no negotiation or agreement was reached. Meanwhile sanctions from countries across the world, including the U.S. and throughout Europe, have caused the Russian ruble to plummet and the central Russian bank to more than double its key interest rate.

Russian troops entered Ukraine on February 24 and have already taken territories to the east, north, and south. Ukraine’s armed forces continue to defend Kyiv and other other key cities, retaining control and slowing Russia’s advance.

The UN has recorded at least 406 civilian casualties in the war so far including 102 deaths. More than 360,000 people have fled Ukraine into neighboring coutnries Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary, many leaving their husbands, fathers, and sons behind as they prepare to fight.
