‘Tis the Season for the Perfect Holiday Playlist

Written by Danielle Lyn
It’s officially the most wonderful time of the year! The second holiday season during the era of COVID is upon us, and the challenges of the last 18 months have heightened the anticipation of 2021’s remaining holidays. Mark your calendars for Halloween (October 31), Día de los Muertos (November 1-2), Diwali (November 4), Thanksgiving (November 25), Hanukkah (November 28-December 6), Winter Solstice (December 21), Christmas (December 25), Kwanza (December 26) and New Years’ Eve (December 31). Holidays are all about honoring our cultural and familial traditions, celebrating our beliefs, spending time with loved ones near and far, sharing fond memories, enjoying delicious food, and listening to festive songs!
The fall kicks off the beginning of the holiday season, and with that comes autumn’s crisp weather and fun activities like cornucopias filled with pumpkins and gourds, pumpkin patches and corn mazes, the artful carving of jack-o’-lanterns, fistfuls of candy corn, neighborhood streets filled with costumed trick-or-treaters, aromas of cinnamon broomsticks and fall candles in the air. It’s also the season of wearing flannels, attending costume parties, exploring haunted houses, drinking warm apple cider and enjoying PSL bliss! And just as quickly as autumn’s golden leaves fall, winter’s first snow will soon blanket the ground. And with it comes nostalgic decorations hung with care, scents of fresh pine, peppermint bark, homemade cookies, gingerbread houses, advent calendars, gift -giving, mistletoe and cold-weather fashion, which await us!

From fall frolics to yuletide and “ugly-holiday-sweater-party” cheer, enjoy this top 20 holiday season playlist to put on shuffle and repeat for the remainder of 2021!
